“Greetings everyone! Well, we’ve had our share of growing challenges this season.  80+mph winds, excessive rainfall, quite a package to test our abilities.

Pickling cucumbers are now in full swing, and are faring quite well.  Elephant, German, and Italian garlic are all harvested and ready for sale.  The onions did very well, and sized quite nicely.  Peppers took a beating in the wind, but will likely still yield enough bells for everyone’s salsa this season.  Tomatoes are heavily loaded and on the verge of starting to ripen.  Hard to believe August is just right around the corner!

This season, due to the unpredictability of the weather, we advise our customers not to put off their pickling or canning.  For the last 7 years, we have managed to have a stable supply of most of our offerings, but this season may be different.  Unsettled weather patters, if they continue, are likely to have a detrimental impact on the harvest.

So, please get those orders in for pickling and canning.

Be sure to check in on our Facebook page, as we are easily able to update from the farm what is going on on a daily basis…This link should take you there.
